Man kicked out of Disney for the third time after hanging Trump 2020 banner – By Avery Anapol (The Hill) / Feb 14 2019
A New York man was reportedly kicked out of Disneyland for the third time after hanging a campaign sign for President Trump at the California theme park.
Dion Cini, a former Marine, was met by park security guards and Anaheim, Calif. police officers on Wednesday after hanging a large banner reading “Re-elect Donald J Trump. Keep America Great!” from the side of the park’s Mark Twain Riverboat attraction, according to the Orange County Register.
Cini live-streamed the act on Facebook, calling it “Operation FlagDrop.”
A spokeswoman for Disney told the Register that large signs and banners violate the park’s safety regulations.
“We welcome all guests to enjoy our parks; however, demonstrations and the display of signs and banners are not permitted,” Liz Jaeger said. “This person has been previously warned, and we have taken appropriate steps to address his behavior.”
Cini has previously been kicked out of Florida Disney World twice and earned a lifetime ban for displaying Trump 2020 signs at the park, the Register noted. He is also known to row a kayak along the Hudson River in New York displaying pro-Trump signs, and has done similar stunts at Yankee Stadium and at a performance of Broadway musical “Frozen,” according to Newsweek.
In Wednesday’s video, passers-by can be heard shouting both positive and negative responses at Cini as he holds up the banner.
One Disneyland visitor told the Register that she was “appalled and kind of dumbstruck” when she saw the banner from the shore.
“This is the happiest place on earth, that kind of political agenda doesn’t belong in the park,” Jennifer Elliott said. “We hear about politics every day, I come to Disney to escape it.”
Cini was reportedly given a trespass admonition by Disneyland security, but was not arrested. He later posted on Facebook that he was banned from the park, according to the Register.
