what, exactly, would’ve “armed federal law enforcement agents” had done at polling station to prevent a cyberattack? Voting machines are not connected to the interweb so that means someone would have to electronically break into each individual machine to change vote counts. So here’s a question, how long does it take you too vote and how long would it take one person to change the “crack” the internal memory of one machine? Or should anyone who wants to disrupt Election day just such down major traffic arteries to delay voting- PB/TK
Obama produced plan to counter potential Election Day cyberattack: report – By Rebecca Savransky / July 20 2017
Former President Obama’s administration reportedly crafted a plan last year to combat a potential cyber hack on Election Day.
The plan, reported by Time, included ideas such as sending “armed federal law enforcement agents” to polling places.
“In almost all potential cases of malicious cyber activity impacting election infrastructure, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments” would be primarily in charge of responding, said the 15-page plan, obtained by the magazine.
If there was a “significant incident,” though, the White House was ready with “enhanced procedures,” said the plan, which was produced last October.
Other potential measures included deploying “Active and Reserve” military forces and National Guard members “upon a request from a federal agency and the direction of the Secretary of Defense or the President.”
