    State House Democrats filed a bill to require candidates to swear they have never colluded with a foreign government to influence an election.

    House Bill 902, authored by state Rep. David Dreyer, D-Atlanta, says that when candidates file a notice of candidacy with the secretary of state’s office or an election superintendent, they will have to submit an affidavit that swears neither the candidate nor his or her staff have colluded with foreign governments or states to influence U.S. elections.

    If a candidate is found to have lied on an affidavit, he or she would be guilty of a felony.

    The bill will likely face an uphill fight.
