“No,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told reporters Tuesday, when asked if he regretted releasing video of a mob’s breach of the Capitol on January 6, 2021 to Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson.
“No. I said at the very beginning: transparency,” McCarthy replied. “And so, what I wanted to produce for everybody was exactly what I said: that people could look at it and see what’s going on that day.”
“Look, each person can come up with their own conclusion. But, I just wanted to make sure I had transparency,” McCarthy said, as reporters continued to badger him about his decision.
