GOP House leader to talk with Marjorie Taylor Greene amid calls for stronger action – By Emily Brooks (Washington Examiner) / January 27 2021
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is set to have a stern discussion with Marjorie Taylor Greene following the revelation of Facebook posts and interactions with posts about violence against Democrats like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“These comments are deeply disturbing and Leader McCarthy plans to have a conversation with the Congresswoman about them,” McCarthy spokesman Mark Bednar said in a statement.
It remains to be seen, though, whether the combative freshman Georgia Republican will face any stronger repercussions.
In 2019, McCarthy stripped then- Rep. Steve King of his committee assignments after the Iowa congressman said in an interview, “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?”
