Homeland Security Adviser Cites ‘Alarming’ Spike in Illegal Migrant Apprehensions – By OAN Newsroom (oann.com) / April 8 2018

White House Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert cites an “alarming” surge in illegal immigrant arrests in March, saying it has increased by more than 200%.

In an interview today, Bossert said the increase served as a good reason for President Trump to call for national guard troops to be deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Reports say in the same month there were more than 50,000 illegal immigrant apprehensions alone.

The homeland security adviser also said the problem lies in captious bureaucratic differences over how many illegal aliens are in the U.S. instead of trying to resolve the heart of the problem.

The high number of apprehensions follows a reasonably successful 2017 in regards to stemming illegal migrant crossings, which sources say was the lowest since 1971.
