Massive Protests Break Out in Tehran – By OAN Newsroom (oann.com) / June 25 2018
A new wave of civil unrest erupts in Iran as citizens demand improvements in the economy.
Crowds of protesters shut down the main market in Tehran after the Iranian national currency crashed against the U.S. dollar.
The protesters are chanting “death to Syria’” and “our enemy is here — not the U.S.” as they demand the government focus on improving the economy.
Tehran police deployed tear gas against the protesters, but crowds are gathering around the parliament building.
This comes after Iranian women refused to wear Islamic veils at the ongoing World Cup in Russia.
The protests come ahead of the renewed U.S. oil embargo against Iran, which could capsize the nation’s fragile economy.
