Rand Paul’s annual Festivus airing of grievances targets Ted Cruz, aliens – By Leon Wolf (theblaze.com) / Dec 23 2017
Long time followers of Senator Rand Paul’s twitter feed know that the sometimes offbeat Kentucky Republican makes a big deal out of the fictional holiday Festivus, which was popularized by the telveision Sitcom “Seinfeld.” One of the main traditions of Festivus, according to the show, was the annual “airing of grievances,” which Senator Paul has elevated to an art form.
Some of the grievances were substantive, such as a series of grievances about how the government spends taxpayer money:
I’m back to celebrate #Festivus with some more #AiringofGrievances, this time about how the government spends your money

Here are just a handful of the examples…#AiringofGrievances

It may not seem like a lot of money, but we spent just under $100k to make sure Kenyan farmers knew how to use Facebook.

Oh great, now the waste report is going to get a subpoena from the Special Prosecutor.

Others were more tongue-in-cheek, and targeted his colleagues in the Senate. For instance, Orrin Hatch:
Somehow, an octogenarian Mormon has better pot jokes than I do. This has been bothering me for a while. #HappyFestivus

He also poked fun at the government’s program to discover alien life, which was apparently developed at the best of former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)
On that same subject, I have a major #HappyFestivus #AiringofGrievances with my friend @SenatorReid

HOW IS IT YOU NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT THE ALIENS, HARRY??!!

Paul also poked fun at Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who got in a highly publicized Twitter spat with Star Wars star Mark Hamill:
My friend @tedcruz decided to have an #AiringofGrievances early with @HamillHimself. On Star Wars opening weekend. Hmm pic.twitter.com/msnzLeXkxn

There are how many million Americans who’ve wanted to force-choke Ted, and he picked on the one who could do It. Brave, he is pic.twitter.com/rL5c65wMoH

And of course, no Twitter airing of grievances would be complete without a friendly joke about President Donald Trump:
I want to pause to wish @realDonaldTrump a Happy Festivus. We told him to take today off, since he airs his grievances on here every day pic.twitter.com/OicIz1x5Uj

Last year, Paul celebrated Festivus with an election-themed airing of grievances against his fellow Republican presidential candidates.
PB/TK – I’m wondering if this is the only time of year Rand Paul gets attention, by hijacking a fake holiday when others are clamoring about a War on Christmas
