President Donald Trump called for an investigation into Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s ties to Russia on Friday.
Tweeting an image of Schumer and Putin eating doughnuts together, Trump called Schumer “a total hypocrite.”
Schumer responded to the tweet, indicating that he would happily oblige to discuss his relationship with Putin and calling on Trump to do the same.
Trump’s tweet was sent from an iPhone, which differs from Trump’s preferred Android device. It was likely sent by Trump’s social media director, Dan Scavino. Scavino tweeted the same photograph from his personal account several hours before it was sent from Trump’s account.
