In yet another grim view from inside the West Wing, the Washington Post lends more insight into exactly how the nation’s commander in chief whiles away his hours. Josh Dawsey writes:
He obsesses over negative news coverage sometimes long after the topic has changed. He often marvels that he can make the cable news chyrons change. And he is constantly selling himself — regardless of who is in front of him and no matter the topic.
Much like the recently released Bob Woodward book Fear—nothing shocking here. No service to the country, just constant me-me-me self gratification and aggrandizement. And while everyone else is doing things like trying to minimize the death toll when Hurricane Florence hits the southeastern seaboard, you can rest assured Trump is delighting that his delusional, pathetic, and unconscionable dismissal of Puerto Rico’s death toll following Hurricane Maria is prompting a change in cable news chyrons. Back in his New York days, Trump had to wait for the tabloids to come out the next day to see if his lies had made a splash. Now he gets the instant gratification of manipulating the chyrons in real time. What a rush!
