San Francisco police say Mission District shooting ‘appears to be’ targeted – By Amy Graff & Amanda Bartlett (SFGATE) / June 12, 2023
In a statement Sunday, the San Francisco Police Department told SFGATE that Friday night’s Mission District shooting that left nine people injured “appears to be” a targeted and isolated incident. The department said it could not provide any names in its search for suspects.
“SFPD Investigators have been working diligently on the shooting incident in the Mission District that occurred Friday night,” the department said. “At this time, we are unable to confirm any persons of interest, nor have we released such information to the public.”
The shooting occurred at 24th and Treat streets just after 9 p.m., SFPD said. The bullets were fired near a store that houses both Mission Skateboards and Dying Breed SF, a skate apparel company that was hosting a five-year anniversary party, according to the store’s Instagram page. Police rushed to the scene and called for medics, according to the police report.
