Violent protests are spreading throughout France after a 17-year-old – named as Nahel M – was shot dead by police during a traffic stop in the Paris suburb of Nanterre on Tuesday.
Looters broke into a gun shop in Marseille and more than a thousand arrests were made across France as riots continued for a fourth night.

In the aftermath, people have taken to the streets on four consecutive nights to protest, setting cars alight, throwing stones and fireworks, and ransacking shops.
The French interior ministry said 1,311 people were arrested and 79 police officers were injured overnight.
