Private payroll firm ADP’s monthly job survey shows the labor market remains robust.
Employers added 192,000 jobs in April, slightly more than expected, private payroll firm ADP said on Wednesday.
The March number was revised upward to 208,000 from its original 184,000 estimate. Economists had predicted a gain of around 180,000 for April.
“Hiring was broad-based in April,” said Nela Richardson, chief economist at ADP. “Only the information sector – telecommunications, media, and information technology – showed weakness, posting job losses and the smallest pace of pay gains since August 2021.”
