Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker says he will not cut the budget for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 general election.
Whitaker reportedly told associates he will allow Mueller’s probe to continue, according to sources familiar with the matter.
It’s still unclear how close the special counsel is to wrapping-up the investigation, which newly released DOJ figures show has cost taxpayers more than $16-million dollars during its first year.
