The network made the announcement Monday.

What are the details?
In a statement, Fox said, “Brazile, a veteran Democratic strategist, will offer political analysis across both Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network’s daytime and primetime programming.”

Brazile, who is also a former CNN and ABC political analyst, wrote an op-ed published on Fox, detailing her delight at being able to join the network.

“I know I’m going to get criticized from my friends in the progressive movement for being on Fox News,” she admitted. “My response is that, if we’ve learned anything from the 2016 election, it is that we can’t have a country where we don’t talk to those who disagree with our political views.”

Brazile added, “There’s an audience on Fox News that doesn’t hear enough from Democrats. We have to engage that audience and show Americans of every stripe what we stand for rather than retreat into our ‘safe spaces’ where we simply agree with each other.”

Brazile explained that even though perspectives will likely be different on the network, she is willing to be open-minded.

“Will I agree with my fellow commentators at Fox News? Probably not. But I will listen,” she insisted.

What else?
Brazile was named interim DNC chair in 2016 after former DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned. Brazile stirred up controversy that same year when WikiLeaks reported that Brazile provided questions to the Hillary Clinton campaign in advance of CNN’s broadcasts of the Democratic primary debates.

CNN later relieved Brazile from her network duties, explaining that it did not play any role in Brazile sharing questions with the Clinton campaign.

A source purported to be close to the situation at Fox told The Hill that Brazile “will not be involved with debates or town halls at the network.”
