Harvey Weinstein has reached a tentative settlement with many of his alleged sexual misconduct victims — and he won’t have to pay a dime, according to a report.
Under the agreement, the insurance companies representing Weinstein’s bankrupt film studio would foot the $25 million bill for payments to women who have accused the disgraced movie mogul of rape and sexual misconduct, according to the New York Times.
The deal also does not require Weinstein to admit any wrongdoing.
More than 30 actresses and former Weinstein employees have sued the former movie mogul.
They would share in the payouts, under the agreement, that would also settle some of the legal costs for Weinstein and his brother Robert. Part of the money would be set aside for future claims, the report said.
The agreement did not please all of Weinstein’s accusers.
