Fence to go up around Kentucky Governor’s Mansion in response to Beshear effigy – By Billy Kobin (Louisville Courier Journal) / July 14 2020
In response to an effigy of Gov. Andy Beshear getting hanged from a tree outside the State Capitol in May, a fence is going up around the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion “for the safety of the current and future first families.”
Crystal Staley, a spokeswoman for Beshear, said the Kentucky State Police executive security team requested the fence be put up after attendees of a Second Amendment rally on May 24 hanged the effigy on Capitol grounds.
Additional details on when the fence will go up and how much it will cost were not immediately available.
The Second Amendment rally, which drew a crowd of more than 100 people outside the State Capitol in Frankfort, began as a celebration of constitutional rights.
