Inslee announces eased restrictions on restaurants, youth sports, movie theaters – By Becca Savransky (Seattle P-I) / Oct 6 2020

Gov. Jay Inslee on Tuesday announced eased restrictions on restaurants, libraries, youth sports and other businesses in counties across Washington.

During a news conference Tuesday, Inslee said he was “pleased” to say the state’s efforts were showing progress — even as the rate of transmission of the coronavirus still remains high above the state’s target of having fewer than 25 new cases per 100,000 people over the previous 14 days.

Under the new orders, restaurants in counties in Phase 2 and Phase 3 will also be able to increase capacity at tables — to six people in Phase 2 and eight people in Phase 3 — and will no longer have to follow the requirement of only letting people dine inside with members of their households. Alcohol sales will also be allowed until 11 p.m. Previous restrictions barred alcohol sales after 10 p.m.

Libraries and movie theaters will be able to open indoors at 25% in counties in Phase 2. Movie theaters will be able to open at 50% in counties in Phase 3. Realtors will be able to hold open houses again as long as they abide by county’s size-limit requirements.
