H-E-B’s “extraordinary thank you” in the form of five Benjamins for each employee – or as they say, “partner” – stirred up some online chatter about the new flex that comes along with the red polo.
The Texas grocery store announced the $500 bonus, plus a cool pair of socks, for each employee, both full-time and part-time, on Wednesday as a way to show appreciation for their work throughout the pandemic. According to the grocer’s website, the H-E-B workforce includes more than 100,000 people.
H-E-B’s Chief People Officer Tina James ushered in the good news during a virtual meeting and noted partners would get $350 (after taxes) via direct deposit Friday.
