Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Sunday announced that Congress had reached an agreement on a $900 billion bipartisan deal, bringing an end to months of negotiations.
The economic relief package will reportedly bring millions of Americans a temporary $300 weekly unemployment benefit and a $600 stimulus check. The plan will also include federal aid to small businesses, schools, and renters.
“As the American people continue battling the coronavirus this holiday season, they will not be on their own. Congress has just reached an agreement. We will pass another rescue package ASAP. More help is on the way,” McConnell wrote in a tweet.
