How do you celebrate a birthday amid a pandemic?
It’s a question many have pondered since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, which more or less eliminates the usual options like family parties and backyard barbecues. And it’s one that’s led some toward surprise lawn displays that let them share best wishes with their loved ones — and their loved ones’ neighbors and anyone else who happens to be driving past.
These “Happy Birthday’s” are hard to miss.
“It was really cool and really personalized, especially in the middle of the coronavirus, when we’re not going to be around other people,” said Deborah Thaler, who last year arranged for a birthday surprise for her husband through Spunky Yard Signs.
She was so impressed she thinks she’d do it again even without pandemic restrictions.
