The United States began outreach to North Korea last moth, according to multiple reports.
Reuters first reported the outreach on Saturday, citing a senior Biden administration official.
The official told the news outlet that there had been efforts to reach out “through several channels starting in mid-February, including in New York.”
“To date, we have not received any response from Pyongyang,” the official added.
The official further told the news outlet that there appeared to be no active dialogue between the nations for over a year “despite multiple attempts during that time by the United States to engage.”
