Study: Job Postings Requiring Vaccinations Doubled in August – By Kaia Hubbard (US News) / Sept 9 2021
Job postings requiring workers to receive coronavirus vaccinations skyrocketed in August, according to a new report.
The number of job postings specifying that potential hires must be vaccinated against the coronavirus increased dramatically last month, a new report from Indeed’s Hiring Lab found, and they have since accelerated.
The share of postings per million specifically requiring vaccinations rose by 119% during the week ending on Aug. 30, while job postings that mentioned requiring vaccinations in general rose 242%.
The results come as the delta variant has surged throughout the country and after President Joe Biden urged companies to impose their own vaccine mandates on their employees following the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine’s full FDA approval.
According to Indeed, a small batch of job postings recommend vaccinations but stop short of requiring them, while other postings ask potential employees to verify their vaccination status by uploading their vaccination card, and others have offered vaccine bonuses to new hires.
