So the US Gov is trying to really crack down on unnecessary spending and transgender military “services” have become the talking point between DEM and POTUS Donnie.
But ‘Botox’ Nancy does have a point; Military transgender care costs nearly $9 million/year while military erectile dysfunction prescriptions cost nearly $85 million/year. So cut both and almost $94 million and find somewhere else for unnecessary costs to argue.

Pelosi: DOD Spent 5 Times More on Viagra Than It Would on ‘Transition-Related Care’ for Transgenders – By CNS News Staff (cnsnews.com) / Aug 28 2017
(CNSNews.com) – House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says that the Department of Defense is spending five times more on Viagra than it would on “transition-related care” for transgenders had President Donald Trump not ordered the Pentagon to bar transgenders from the military.
“A study commissioned by the Department of Defense itself found that the cost of providing medically necessary care for transgender troops would be miniscule,” Pelosi said in a press release put out Friday. “In fact, every year, the Pentagon spends five times more on Viagra than they would for transition-related care.”
Pelosi’s critique may have been based on a story that The Washington Post published on July 26, under the headline “The military spends five times as much on Viagra as it would on transgender troops’ medical care.”
“On Twitter this morning, President Trump announced a ban on transgender people serving in the military, citing ‘medical costs’ as the primary driver of the decision,” said the Post.
“‘Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail,’ the Post quoted Trump as tweeting.
“While Trump didn’t offer any numbers to support this claim,” said the Post, “a Defense Department-commissioned study published last year by the Rand Corp. provided exhaustive estimates of transgender servicemembers’ potential medical costs.”
“Considering the prevalence of transgender servicemembers among the active duty military and the typical health-care costs for gender-transition-related medical treatment, the Rand study estimated that these treatments would cost the military between $2.4 million and $8.4 million annually,” the Post said.
The paper went on to compare to the numbers cited in a Military Times analysis of what the military spends dealing with “erectile dysfunction.”
“By contrast,” the Post said, “total military spending on erectile dysfunction medicines amounts to $84 million annually, according to an analysis by the Military Times—10 times the cost of annual transition-related medical care for active duty transgender servicemembers.
“The military spends $41.6 million annually on Viagra alone, according to the Military Times analysis–roughly five times the estimated spending on transition-related medical care for transgender troops,” said the Post.

San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after President Trump signed a memorandum ordering the Pentagon to block transgender Americans from enlisting in the military, to halt payment for medically necessary treatments for transgender troops, and to consider drumming transgender troops out of the military:
“The Commander-in-Chief is ordering the Pentagon to hurt and humiliate thousands of Americans who serve in our military with strength and courage. Prejudice, not the national defense, is behind President Trump’s cruel decision to kick transgender troops out of the military.
“A study commissioned by the Department of Defense itself found that the cost of providing medically necessary care for transgender troops would be miniscule. In fact, every year, the Pentagon spends five times more on Viagra than they would for transition-related care.
“The President of the United States should have more respect for the transgender men and women who had the patriotism and bravery to serve our country in uniform.”
