Guardsman accused of threatening Jewish school to remain behind bars over ‘ghost gun’ charges – By Jordan Laird (The Columbus Dispatch) / July 7, 2022

An Ohio National Guardsman previously charged in Franklin County with threatening a Columbus Jewish school will remain behind bars on new federal charges.

Thomas Develin, 24, a corporal with the Ohio Army National Guard’s 2nd Battalion, 174th Air Defense Regiment, who previously lived on Columbus’ Far North Side, on Thursday waived his right to a detention hearing on federal charges in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in Columbus. This means Develin, who also serves as an air defense battle management operator, will remain in jail without bond.

Federal agents arrested Develin last week on charges related to making and selling “ghost” guns, firearms made in whole or in part with a 3D printer. These weapons do not have serial numbers and are virtually untraceable.
