Beto O’Rourke drops F-bomb at heckler over Uvalde shooting – By Ariana Garcia (Houston Chronicle) / Aug 11, 2022
The Democrat was describing the weapon used in May’s Uvalde school massacre when he was interrupted by a cackling Greg Abbott supporter. Here’s his response.
Texas gubernatorial hopeful Beto O’Rourke couldn’t hold back his ire or an expletive Wednesday night when his speech during a town hall in Mineral Wells, Texas was interrupted by heckler as O’Rourke discussed the recent Uvalde shooting. While the Democrat described the weapon that was used to kill 19 children and two teachers during the May 24 massacre, a man in the crowd, an alleged supporter of Gov. Greg Abbott, cackled in response.
In the lead up to the interaction, O’Rourke was describing how the 18-year-old gunman “followed the law that’s on the books that says you can buy not one, but two or more AR-15s, hundreds of rounds and ammunition and take that weapon that was originally designed for use on battlefields in Vietnam to penetrate an enemy’s helmet at 500 ft and knock him down dead.”
However, before O’Rourke was able to finish his point, the man began laughing loudly enough to disrupt the candidate, prompting him to swiftly turn toward the man and shout: “It may be funny to you motherf–ker, but it’s not funny to me.”
Tonight, in Mineral Wells, Texas
When a @GregAbbott_TX supporter laughs, yes, laughs out loud so everyone could hear, while Beto described the massacre of 19 children and 2 teachers in Uvalde, Beto quite appropriately lets loose with a MF.
Yep.
It was a pretty good one too. pic.twitter.com/t5LLMIPXeP— BetoMedia (@BetoMedia) August 11, 2022
