Five U.S. troops are wounded in a suicide attack outside a U.S. base in Afghanistan.
Officials say the attacker used a bomb-laden vehicle to target service members outside Bagram Air Base in northern Afghanistan on Monday.
A U.S. defense official said the wounded troops suffered minor injuries, including broken bones and concussions.
The soldiers were taken to the airfield’s hospital for treatment.
A Georgian soldier and four afghan civilians were also hurt, but their conditions are unknown.
The incident comes 16 years after the 9/11 attacks, which were perpetrated by the Afghanistan-based terror group Al-Qaeda.
