Kansas Department of Transportation calls Trump ‘delusional communist’ on Twitter – By Justin Wise (The Hill) / March 17 2019
A Kansas Department of Transportation employee is no longer working for the agency after one of its Twitter accounts called President Trump a “delusional communist” in a since-deleted tweet.
“You’re a delusional Communist,” the department’s south central Kansas account tweeted Sunday afternoon after Trump criticized a trio of Fox News anchors. “You know it’s Communist countries that try to control media, right?”
The tweet was deleted about two hours after it was published, according to The Wichita Eagle. But the tweet sparked widespread attention in the state, with lawmakers and the Kansas Republican Party commenting on it.
“Governor [Laura] Kelly campaigned on bipartisanship,” the Kansas Republican Party said in a Facebook post. “But she refuses to negotiate with Republicans in the Legislature, and her staff is too busy attacking President Trump on the Kansas taxpayer’s dime.”

State Rep. J.R. Claeys (R) tweeted that KDOT could “feel free” to call his office for “advice before Republicans pounce.”
KDOT acting secretary Julie Lorenz condemned the tweet in a statement Sunday night.
“The tweet has been deleted from the KDOT account as it does not reflect the views of KDOT or the administration and was an unacceptable use of state communication tools,” Lorenz said, according to The Wichita Eagle.
Lorenz did not name the employee, but added that the person was no longer employed at the agency.
KDOT did not immediately respond to a request for further comment from The Hill.
Ashley All, a spokeswoman for Kelly, echoed Lorenz’ remarks, telling the The Wichita Eagle that the tweet was “absolutely unacceptable.”
