Alexandria Shuts Down Her Employer, Voters Kill Their Own Dreams, and the Left Gets a New Slogan – By Alex Parker (redstate.com) / Aug 21 2018
One thing I’ve noticed about the Left is that they don’t seem to think things through.
In fact, it wouldn’t be a bad slogan.
I can think of many anecdotes which, observed over many years, paint a picture of…well…a lack of consideration.
A friend of mine wants most of all to own their own business. They also seem to only think whatever MSNBC and NPR say they should. So lately, they’ve posted endorsements of Alexandrai Ocasio-Cortez. I’m completely certain they have no idea what socialism is, and no inkling of the contradiction of wanting to own their own business and, at the same time, supporting not being able to.
“The Democratic Party — We Don’t Think Things Through.”
The Democratic Party isn’t necessarily the Left; but so far as Ocasio-Cortez’s fans are concerned, it is.
One person who shouldn’t be a fan, however, is the owner of The Coffee Shop, located in New York City’s Union Square. Alexandria’s former employer had to shut down, sadly, bankrupted by, in part, a rising minimum wage.
The closure — which will leave 150 people unemployed — was announced in July. Co-owner Charles Milite explained the situation to the New York Post:
“The times have changed in our industry. … The rents are very high and now the minimum wage is going up and we have a huge number of employees.”
Legislating a $15 minimum wage is a policy Ocasio-Cortez — in her giddy celebration of all things being free and everyone floating around like fairies, suckling the nectar of the gods of Unreasonable Everything — supports.
But:
“We Don’t Think Things Through.”
Subsequently, Alexandria floated on over to The Coffee Shop Monday, apparently oblivious:
“The restaurant I used to work at is closing its doors. I swung by today to say hi one last time, and kid around with friends like old times. I’m a normal, working person who chose to run for office, because I believe we can have a better future. You can do it too. We all can.”

Aaaaand there ya go.
As a bonus: I believe this is truly illustrative of the degree of thinking of the extreme Left…
Actor Laverne Cox — celebrated as a transgender woman — high-fived Alexandria via Twitter:
“Ah I used to work at Coffee Shop as well. Small world. You rock btw. You make me wish I lived in your district just so I can vote for you.”

Nothing wrong with that.
But, in my view, here’s where we find the level of analysis currently taking place on the far end of the political aisle — a response to Laverne:
“Wow, biggest endorsement for @Ocasio2018 ever!”
“We Don’t Think it Through.”
