Biden’s classified document investigation is finished and could be released in days: Report – By Misty Severi (Washington Examiner) / Feb 6, 2024
Special counsel Robert Hur has reportedly completed his investigation into President Joe Biden’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and will likely release his final report in the coming days.
No specific dates for the report or details on the investigation have been released so far, but Biden’s aides do not expect any criminal charges to come out of the report. However, officials do expect the report to be critical of the president, according to the Washington Post.
The investigation focused on the mishandling of approximately 25 classified documents found at Biden’s former office and his home in Wilmington, Delaware. The documents stem from his days as then-President Barack Obama’s vice president.
Although the report is not expected to be criminally damaging, the president’s allies are preparing for it to hinder his reelection chances and embarrass Biden. The report is required to go to Congress, half of which is run by Republicans intent on highlighting the president’s shortcomings, especially ones he has criticized former President Donald Trump for having.
