Former President Bill Clinton insisted Saturday that funds from his family’s charitable foundation were not used to pay for his daughter’s 2010 wedding.
The Washington Post published a story Saturday carrying the headline, “Did the Clinton Foundation pay for Chelsea’s wedding?”
Bill Clinton responded to a tweet about the piece: “No Clinton Foundation funds—dedicated to Haiti or otherwise—were used to pay for Chelsea’s wedding. It’s not only untrue, it’s a personal insult to me, to Hillary, and to Chelsea and Marc.”

Chelsea Clinton married Marc Mezvinsky in July 2010. The claim that foundation money was used for the festivities has never been proven, but the story has been discussed on Fox News and broadly circulated on the web.
Bill Clinton’s reference to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti came after President Donald Trump reportedly called Haiti and some African nations “s***hole countries” during a bipartisan immigration meeting last week.
Charity Navigator, the independent charity rating agency, has scored the Clinton Foundation with four stars, its highest rating for financial accountability and transparency.
Former Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush worked together to raise money to help with Haiti’s recovery and relief effort after the 7.0 magnitude quake, which was estimated to have killed anywhere between 100,000 and 316,000 people.
PB/TK – Rather funny how POTUS Billy posts comments about “shithole” Haiti and all of a sudden people are remarking how the Clinton Foundation paid for Chelsea’s wedding. Oh is this the same wedding that reportedly a then citizen Donnie Trump tried to crash to be part of the Hollywood’s who’s who for PR purposes? Has anyone really looked at the ‘shithole’ called Haiti and it’s past history to how it became what it is?
