Bill Maher says he knows who to blame for Comey fallout — and liberals will be angry over who it is – By Chris Enloe l May 13 2017
President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey earlier this week, citing a recommendation from the Department of Justice over Comey’s handling of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton and her use of a private email server.
According to the DOJ, Comey “usurped” then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch by giving a press conference on July 5, 2016, announcing the FBI wouldn’t recommend charges against Clinton. Comey further damaged the FBI and DOJ by laying out details of the case, which the Trump-era DOJ said is a break from standard DOJ procedures.
But according to liberal HBO host Bill Maher, the entire Comey scandal — and the heat Trump has taken since the firing — would have never happened if it weren’t for former President Bill Clinton.
Maher said on Friday’s “Real Time” that Bill Clinton is to blame for the Comey fallout, citing a tarmac meeting he had with Lynch last summer in Arizona just days before Hillary Clinton was to be deposed by federal investigators.
