Bipartisan Awesomeness: Rachel Maddow Sends Pizza to Law Enforcement Responsible for Rescuing Brett Baier – By Brandon Morse (Red State) / Jan 23 2019
And now for something completely different.
Usually, when you see the name Rachel Maddow pop up on RedState its to cover something she said that was intentionally hilarious or blindingly ridiculous. As it turns out, though, Maddow might be a special brand of left-leaning lunatic, but at least she has a good heart.
RedState reported on Tuesday that Fox News host Brett Baier and his family being involved in a major accident that sent them all to the hospital. Luckily, all members of the Baier family are okay.
According to The Hill, Maddow sent the meal to the Montana Highway Patrol with a kind note attached thanking them for saving Baier:
MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” sent pizza to Montana law enforcement officials who helped rescue Fox News anchor Bret Baier and his family after a car accident.
Sgt. Patrick McLaughlin of the Montana Highway Patrol shared a photo on Twitter Wednesday of the pizza provided on behalf of Maddow’s show.
A note accompanying the food delivery said the pizza was for “everyone at the Bozeman Highway Patrol with great respect for your rescue of Bret Baier and his family.”
McLaughlin added in a subsequent tweet that “the gesture was classy.”
Baier thanked Maddow and also tweeted out that he’s going to treat the officers to a meal courtesy of his show, “Special Report with Bret Baier.”
“They had 255 accidents to deal with in that area this weekend (because) of snow & ice #countyourblessings” Baier said in a tweet.
Politics aside, I’m only too thrilled to give credit where credit is due. In one swoop, Maddow has proved herself to be an individual with character, even if she and I exist on the complete opposite political spectrum from one another.
I’m happy that we continue to see bits and pieces of different sides of the aisle coming together like this, just like when Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw and SNL’s Pete Davidson found common ground enough to do a funny skit together.
