‘If you continue to make threats toward the president, you’re going to wind up dead, Maxine,’ man allegedly said

A man in San Pedro, California, pled not guilty Tuesday to threatening Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters and faces a January trial.

Anthony Scott Lloyd said he did not mean to harm Waters, despite allegations he left a threatening voicemail, CBS Los Angeles reported.

Lloyd called himself “pro-President” and Waters has been one of of President Donald Trump’s most vocal critics.

According to court documents, Lloyd was angered by hearing Waters criticize Trump on the radio and left a voicemail message in Waters’ Washington office.

“If you continue to make threats toward the president, you’re going to wind up dead, Maxine, ’cause we’ll kill you,” the voicemail said, according to court documents.

The voicemail also included racial and homophobic slurs, the documents show.

Waters’ office turned the voicemail over to Capitol Police and Lloyd was interviewed by federal agents in California.

Lloyd’s trial date is set for Jan. 30 and he faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

PB/TK – Why do people think making threats against a Government official will get them to change their mind/actions? No threat should be taken lightly by FBI & Secret Service against Congress or POTUS, so if you’re gonna leave stupid voicemails/emails as a prank, you still deserve to be humiliated with arrest
