CDC warns people to stop vaping after string of related deaths – By OAN Newsroom (OANN) / Sept 7 2019

Federal health officials announce another casualty related to the use of e-cigarettes, this time in California.

According to L.A. county’s department of public health Friday, the patient was over 55-years-old and had a history of chronic health problems.

Doctors said the patient died after inhaling a vaporized marijuana product. This marks the 5th vaping-related death in recent weeks with at least 450 cases have been identified across the U.S.

“People are coming down with some shortness of breath some cough maybe fever they could have nausea vomiting which rapidly progresses to a severe lung disease that is causing them to have to be hospitalized,” said Dr. Muntu Davis, the county’s health officer.

Until more information is available, the CDC is advising people to stop vaping.

Meantime, Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin calls out the FDA Commissioner to take decisive action to curb teen vaping or, to resign.

In a letter Friday, the Democrat lawmaker writes if the commissioner does not take action in the next 10 days, Durbin said he plans to call for the commissioner’s resignation.

Durbin also asked the agency to send a letter to all schools warning of the health risks from vaping, and to ban all flavors besides tobacco.

This comes as the FDA is under immense scrutiny amid an outbreak of a mysterious lung disease that several officials believe is linked to vaping, sickening possibly hundreds, and killing at several people nationwide.
