CNN panel calls out Michael Cohen for telling Congress he didn’t want a White House job – By Mike Ciandella (The Blaze) / Feb 27 2019

The CNN panel says that their own reporting contradicts this claim

CNN called out former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen for telling Congress that he never wanted a job in the Trump White House.

What did Cohen say?
“How long did you work in the White House?” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) asked Cohen during his testimony before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday. When Cohen responded that he had never worked in the White House, Jordan shot back “and that’s the point, isn’t it Mr. Cohen.”

“No sir,” Cohen insisted.

“Yes it is,” Jordan continued, as Cohen repeatedly interrupted, denying that this was the case. “You wanted to work in the White House. You didn’t get brought to the dance. And now —”

“I was extremely proud to be the personal attorney to the president of the United States of America,” Cohen said. “I did not want to go to the White House. I was offered jobs — I can tell you a story of Mr. Trump reaming out [former White House chief of staff] Reince Priebus, because I had not taken a job where Mr. Trump wanted me to, which is working with Don McGahn at the White House General Counsel’s Office.

What did the CNN panel say?

“The one potential problem that I thought Michael Cohen has,” CNN Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash said, “was when he was asked if he wanted a job in the White House. And he said no. Our report, I know Pam you have been told, I have been told, all of us, by people in and around the process — real time — he very much wanted a job in the White House.”

After playing a clip of the hearing, CNN anchor Jake Tapper noted, “I think the issue there is that one sentence, ‘I did not want to go to the White House.’ All of our reporting suggests that’s not true.”

Bash said that she reached out to Priebus to confirm the story, but that he had refused to comment. Bash added that she believed that if Trump wanted someone to work in the White House then they would have been there, regardless of whether or not Priebus wanted them there.

In a tweet, Tapper would later clarify that CNN’s reporting and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York “say he told people he wanted to work in the administration/at WH.”
