We’ve dissected the 2016 election results, debated whether Ohio is still a swing state, decided it might actually be a toss-up, analyzed the battlegrounds, been to the rallies and hosted the debates.
Now, after months — nay, years — of talk about the 2020 presidential election, perhaps the most hotly anticipated political contest in American history, the polls will finally open for most Ohioans.
Boards of elections will mail the first wave of absentee ballots Tuesday to a staggering 2 million Ohio voters who requested them, the same day they open the polls for a month of in-person early voting at board offices.
Those early votes will be the first counted after the polls close at 7:30 on election night Nov. 3. Elections workers will be able to process ballots that roll in between now and Election Day but won’t be allowed to tabulate them.
