Ex-GOP governor tells toy it can buy a semi-automatic weapon for ‘ethnic cleansing’ – By Avery Anapol (thehill.com) / Aug 20 2018
Former GOP Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer told a toy with the mentality of a 3-year-old that it can purchase a semi-automatic gun in the episode of Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Who is America?” that aired Sunday.
Cohen revived his character OMGWhizzBoyOMG, a Danish YouTube star who is famous for “unboxing” toys.
In the interview with Brewer, Cohen voices a Shopkins toy, telling the former governor: “I’m Fizzy Fireworks. I do not know how to tie my shoelaces but please can I have a semi-automatic gun? I think I would be very good at shooting people.”
Brewer responds that the toy can purchase “a certain kind of gun.”
“Certain machine guns are off-grounds,” she adds. “They ought not to be, though.”
Brewer then asked the age of the toy, to which Cohen responded that it is 21, but has the “mental age” of 3 years old.
“But the majority of people aren’t mentally ill,” Brewer says, “And they’re not running around.”
“I’m not mentally ill, I just want to ethnically cleanse all the limited edition Shopkins,” Cohen says as the toy, prompting Brewer to respond: “Well, that’s crazy.”
“Oh, but can I still buy machine gun please?” the “toy” responds.
“Yes, you can,” Brewer says.
Brewer is one of a number of GOP figures who have been duped on Cohen’s controversial show, though her brief interaction with the Shopkins toy appeared less incendiary compared to other recent episodes.
Earlier this month, OMGWhizzBoyOMG interviewed former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, getting him to say that he would accept oral sex from President Trump.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney was also featured in the show, signing a “waterboard kit” that Cohen then placed on eBay for auction.
