    Ex-MMA Fighter Convicted of Punching a Cop During Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol Siege Files Notice of Appeal – By Marisa Sarnoff (Law and Crime) / Nov 25 2021

    The first Capitol siege defendant to plead guilty to assaulting a police officer on Jan. 6 is appealing his case.

    Scott Fairlamb, the New Jersey gym owner and ex-MMA fighter who pleaded guilty in August, filed the appeal documents in federal court on Wednesday.

    Fairlamb, a supporter of Donald Trump and brother of a Secret Service agent, also pleaded guilty to obstructing congressional proceedings.

    U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth sentenced Fairlamb to 41 months in prison on Nov. 10.
