Former Alabama chief justice Roy Moore wins contentious GOP Senate runoff in a huge blow to Trump – By Noor Al-Sibai (rawstory.com) / Sept 26 2017
Judge Roy Moore, Alabama’s controversial former chief justice and current Senate candidate, has won his primary challenge against the state’s incumbent Sen. Luther Strange (R-AL).
Strange, who was appointed by former Alabama Governor Robert Bentley after Attorney General Jeff Sessions vacated his Senate seat to go to the Department of Justice, was backed by President Donald Trump.
Moore, on the other hand, was the candidate of choice for Trump’s former national security adviser Steve Bannon, who instructed his staff at the right-wing news site Breitbart to run attack pieces on Strange.
As the contentious race between Moore and Strange heated up, an interview the former chief justice gave in 2005 in which he said he believed “homosexual conduct should be illegal” resurfaced. His controversial behavior led right up to the eve of his win, when Moore pulled out a pistol at a campaign rally to show his support for gun rights.
PB/TK – Oh I can’t wait for the morning spin tweet on this lose….. Let’s see it was all Luther Strange’s fault! No wait, it was “rocket man’s” fault! Naw, those are obvious, I’m leaning towards Hillary’s puppeteer actions of NFL Owners and Players that caused Strange to lose. But more importantly will Donnie twitter fight with Bannon
