Fox host Lou Dobbs calls American military generals ‘snowflakes’ on Independence Day – By Nicholas Wu (USA Today) / July 4 2019
WASHINGTON – FOX Business Network host Lou Dobbs drew a backlash on Twitter after he made a post calling American military generals ‘snowflakes’ on Independence Day.
“No wonder these Snowflake Generals haven’t won a war since 1991,” Dobbs wrote, in reference to reports about military personnel being concerned about the politicization of the military in the context of President Donald Trump’s Independence Day speech.
Twitter users slammed Dobbs for his remarks online.
Charles Pierce, a sportswriter and blogger, quipped “Insane Man Has Thoughts,” as if his tweet were a newspaper headline.
VoteVets, a progressive veterans advocacy group, noted that Dobbs had never served in combat.

Carla Marinucci, who writes the California version of Politico Playbook, called Dobbs’ tweet an “insult” to “men and women of the military serving the country.”
Don't care what party you belong to: what an insult — and on the 4th of July — to men and women of the military serving the country. @LouDobbs has never served, BTW. https://t.co/GCLRZ1BbDJ

Trump’s planned speech has stoked controversy. In a departure from previous Independence Day traditions, Trump plans to hold a speech on the Lincoln Memorial complete with plane flyovers, tank displays, and fireworks. Trump’s critics have argued that the president’s speech threatens to politicize was a nonpartisan event in past years
