Gov. Doug Ducey Tasked With Choosing Replacement For McCain, If He Steps Down – By OAN Newsroom (oann.com) / Aug 25 2018
The Arizona governor will choose a replacement for Senator John McCain if he steps down in the foreseeable future.
Governor Doug Ducey is tasked with the job to replace Senator John McCain following his announcement to stop treatment for his brain cancer.
According to state law, if McCain announced he was stepping down before May 30th, his seat would be open for the November midterms.
Ducey has remained silent on the matter and it is not known if McCain will step down, but Ducey is legally required to choose someone from McCain’s same party.
