Florida State Rep. Anna Eskamani (D) has raised objections to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) attending an event in Kissimmee, Florida, marking the third anniversary of the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Eskamani expressed disbelief:
“Just another day in Florida where the local Republican Party in Osceola County is hosting an “anniversary” event to mark January 6th and Marjorie Taylor Green is the “special” guest. Was really hoping this was a joke when I first saw it.”
Images shared by Eskamani, an outspoken progressive leader from Central Florida who’s served for 6 years in the Florida Legislature, depict an invitation encouraging Republicans to join Greene at the Westgate Resort from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, commemorating the Capitol attack.
