Judge rules in favor of Trump in battle over CFPB leadership – By Dave Boyer (washingtontimes.com) / Nov 28 2017
A federal judge Tuesday sided with the Trump administration in a dispute over control of a federal consumer agency, denying a temporary restraining order to halt President Trump’s pick for acting director.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly rejected a request by Leandra English, an employee who claimed to be acting director at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, from blocking Trump official Mick Mulvaney as acting director of the agency.
Mr. Mulvaney took over at the CFPB on Monday, but Ms. English also had tried to assert her authority as the hand-picked successor of outgoing Director Richard Cordray.
“The administration applauds the court’s decision, which provides further support for the president’s rightful authority to designate Director Mulvaney as acting director of the CFPB,” said White House spokesman Raj Shah.
Competitive Enterprise Institute General Counsel Sam Kazman said the group was “glad to see this attempt at bureaucratic self-perpetuation fail.”
Consumer Bankers Association President and CEO Richard Hunt said the industry group looks forward “to working with acting CFPB Director Mick Mulvaney to bring transparent and balanced consumer protections to all customers and small businesses.”
“Many actions conducted previously by the CFPB as well as those that are pending warrant a thorough review and we support Mr. Mulvaney’s previous comments concerning a five-person bipartisan commission,” Mr. Hunt said.

PB/TK – Yep the rules state a POTUS can pick whomever they feel and this is another pick of someone who’s against the Dept they are put in charge of, but I do believe the Senate gets final say
