Last Building With Trump Name On NYC’s Upper West Side Votes To Remove It – By Nicole Lafond (TPM) / Feb 22 2019
The last of six condo buildings on Manhattan’s Upper West Side emblazoned with President Trump’s name voted to remove the signage, according to a Friday Washington Post report.
The condo board told residents that nearly 75 percent of those who voted on the issue were in favor of removing “Trump Place” from the exterior of the building.
“Over the next several weeks, we will select a company to carry out the required work,” the board told residents in an email obtained by the Post. Earlier this week, the second to last building holding the President’s last name also voted to get rid of their Trump mark.
Before the 2016 election, the six residential buildings along Riverside Boulevard that are maintained by the Trump Organization had the then-candidate’s name on the exterior, but each has decided to take it down since he took office. The Trump organization still maintains the buildings, according to the Post.
Trump’s name is still intact on nine other buildings in Manhattan, including Trump Tower.
