With this summer’s high unemployment in Ohio, workers may be reluctant to report wage and overtime violations for fear of losing their jobs in an uncertain labor market, experts say.
Carina Turner is fighting her former employer for 50 hours worth of wages she says she is owed.
The licensed psychologist left the Columbus branch of the Toledo-based mental health clinic A Better Life 2 Embrace in the winter and said her time there was plagued with inconsistent pay.
Sometimes she was paid for all hours worked, other times only when she worked directly with patients, the Southeast Side woman said.
