NAU launches program to cover tuition for Arizonans in households making under $65K a year – By Lacey Latch (Arizona Republic) / Mar 11, 2023

Countless prospective undergraduate students across Arizona could have their college tuition covered in full under Northern Arizona University’s new Access2Excellence (A2E) program.

The program, set to launch this fall, assures full tuition coverage through scholarships and financial aid for Arizona resident students with a household income of less than $65,000 per year, which includes about half of all households in the state, according to census data.

The program would also cover tuition for all members of the Arizona’s 22 federally recognized tribes, including those living out of state, regardless of income.

When announcing the upcoming school year’s budget proposal, which includes the implementation of this program, NAU President José Luis Cruz Rivera said: “A2E provides a clear message to the people of Arizona that NAU will meet talented students’ college-going aspirations with an exceptional and affordable pathway to attainment.”
