Most pandemic restrictions have eased, stores and restaurants are back open for business, stadiums and arenas are filling up, and the roads and highways are once again packed with drivers.
Yet the flow of workers back to the office has slowed to a trickle.
That could have huge implications for the way businesses operate and the future of Portland’s beleaguered downtown.
The share of Oregonians working remotely because of COVID-19 is roughly at the same point where it was in the spring, with nearly 1 in 5 people still telecommuting, according to data compiled by Josh Lehner from the Oregon Office of Economic Analysis.
