Pa. man’s killing justified under state’s stand-your-ground law, DA says – By Tony Rhodin (lehigh valley live) / May 25, 2022
Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin on Tuesday ruled the killing of a 36-year-old Allentown man was justified under Pennsylvania’s self-defense stand your ground law, according to a news release.
On Feb. 10, Vincent Bynum, of the 500 block of West Allen Street, was under the influence of alcohol and a “high level” of PCP, which can cause hallucinations and aggressive, paranoid behavior, Martin said.
Moments before being shot, Bynum “attacked and assaulted” a neighbor, who crawled into his home and said he needed medication for his epilepsy because he feared his injuries might trigger a seizure, Martin said.
