    The unconventional, opaque and at times eyebrow-raising review of Maricopa County’s 2020 general election starts back up again on Monday.

    The audit, commissioned by Arizona Senate Republican leaders, took a break for nine days while graduations were held at the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Coliseum.

    The Senate contractors, led by Florida-based cybersecurity firm Cyber Ninjas, plan to try to finish recounting all 2.1 million ballots cast in the county by the end of June, when their lease at the coliseum ends.

    With nearly 500,000 ballots counted in the first month, the team will have to greatly increase the number of workers or hours, or both, to meet that goal. The original plan was to finish by May 14, when the break began.
